Coachella was unofficially renamed BEYCHELLA this year with Beyonce becoming the first African-American female artist to headline the festival and without doubt all future festival headliners will be no match for what we experienced this year. From the custom made Balmain outfits to Jay Z bringing back old school style, Coachella brought the most individualistic style and diversity we have seen so far. We saw super model Gigi Hadid promoting her new campaign with Moschino x H&M collaboration. She was seen wearing a piece from the new collection at the annual Moschino Coachella party – alongside creative director and ‘peoples designer’ Jeremy Scott, reality start Erika Gerardi and rising female rapper Cardi B. While The Weekend shed a tear at his performance with ‘Prometheus’ – the large while face mask placed on the stage. There were so many great fashion moments at the festival and we’ve round them all up for you.
No one beats BAE at her own game – she took us to Africa and back giving us a mini concert for her performance. Every outfit was custom made for Beyonce because off the rack just won’t cut it. Made by creative director Olivier Rousteing with just a few weeks to complete the project with a total of five looks. The most elaborate look was inspired by queen Nefertiti. An Egyptian style cape embellished with sequence and crystals complete with a pharaoh style hat with a dazzling bodysuit is just one look. There was a lot of hood fabulous outfits such as custom made high-rise shorts and crop hoodie with BAE written on the back, as well as black cutout long shirts and sparkly boots. Not only that – Beyonce reunited with hubby Jay Z who wore a Saint Laurent varsity jacket bringing that back to our wardrobes again, brought out her Destiny’s Child soldiers in a Balmation army and even brought out sister Solange. From powerful goddess to street queen – she gave us diversity at it’s finest showing us that she can rule whatever style she embraces.
LA based online boutique Revolve is a favourite of young celebs and models such as Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin who were seen at the Revolve day festival. They hold various designers including Marc Jacobs, Alice & Olivia, rag & bone and many more local designers. ASAP Rocky, Rich the Kid, Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross were all seen performing at the day festival.
MOSCHNO x H&M
At the annual Moschino party at Coachella, Jeremy Scott announced the collaboration of HMOSHCHINO with Swedish retailer H&M. It was a star studded affair with Cardi B, Paris Jackson, Gigi Hadid, Slick Woods and Erika Gerardi. Bold, exaggerated and hip-hop culture was evident at the elaborate and block party atmosphere aiming to revive the Swedish streetwear label H&M’s brand image. Despite this, quirky and fun fashion was present at the celebration.
