Met Gala hosted by the Met Museum is one of fashion’s most anticipated style nights on the calendar, with the red carpet transforming to a couture runway. Celebrities took this year’s theme ‘Fashion and Catholicism’ very seriously with heavenly bodies coated in embellished jewels, bejewelled pope’s hat, trails and edgy satanic style couture gowns.

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner made their first appearances as a couple in Alexander Wang, Gigi Hadid looked angelic in a Versace stained glass windows inspired dress joined by Blake Lively’s dramatic trail gown in red and gold drama, Bella Hadid debuted her custom made Chrome Hearts x Gareth Pugh deadly and edgy black gown while rising rapper Cardi B was joined by Jeremy Scott and model Stella Maxwell in Moschino. Rihanna stole the show in her controversial papal inspired thigh high slit embellished gown complete with pope’s hat designed by Maison Margiela. Jaden Smith rocked up with a golden CD of his album instead of the hair in Louis Vuitton while JLo opted for a Balmain thigh high slit gown with a large embellished cross and Zendaya channelled her inner warrior princess in a custom metallic Joan of Arc inspired attire by Versace. Missing was a bathroom smoking selfie trending on social media this year.
